Radiator fan constantly on?

Hey everyone. I have a 2008 LR2 SE i6. I just had the entire fan assembly replaced with a new fan control module and it still runs at full speed. It goes full speed as soon as I turn on the vehicle until right after I turn it off. Has anyone had this problem?

I was going to replace the coolant temperature sensor next after doing some searching, but should I just replace the entire thermostat instead? What else could cause this? All fuses are good, no engine lights are on.

Sounds like a failed sensor or thermostat - assuming the wiring and connections are all OK

Try this quick check (which I borrowed from elsewhere):
Probably a stuck temp sensor.
Could also be a stuck relay, but I'm not an expert.
Unplug the connector to the temp sensor. If it keeps running it's a relay. If it stops it's the sensor. No Longer the owner of a 2013MY Fuji White GS

Hi Juttiper,

It looks like it’s a problem with the relay blower motor heater resistor LR002685.

Watch this video below and you’ll seee the guy mentioning about fan running continuously.

Good luck! Thumbs Up

Juttiper,

I do have the 3.2 but I've never had a fan problem

From a Volvo web site:

"Thanks for the replies. According to Volvo mechanic, when the pressure in the aircon gas goes below a certain PSI the radiator fan switches on by direction of the high pressure sensor. As to why an idiot would design a system in this way is beyond me.

Found a leak in the condensor. Evidently fixed although something tells me I'll be back.

For the record, mine is a 2005 XC70 with 75.000kms on the clock. I have never had more problems with a car. Volvo truly are crap.
"

It is possible that this is your problem

They did have other suggestions as well

Seem to remember this has cropped up before. You may find it doing a detailed search. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years
