occasional power loss

Hi all,ref above.my 2010 manual lost some power today for a short while,it did this about a month ago.i can be driving normally.(aka Captain slow)when I put my foot down to pass or go up a hill, there is a lack of grunt, the car still responds but slowly, also the change up arrow comes on at around 1500/1800 rpm as I am trying to accelerate,I get up to cruising speed and it seems fine but no hard acceleration when needed.
I can go out a few hours or next day and all is well,it might not happen for a few weeks, surely it can't be a hose as it would do it all the time.
Any thought most welcome
Cheers

did you get a resolution for this as I think I have similar issue.

I have been researching Turbo actuator, also MAF, MAP & AIT sensors. I have no errors logged, took mine to a dealer but £150 later they could only find a recorded disconnect from accelerator pedal which I have changed to no avail.

Mostly it works just fine, picks up well and accelerates well even when towing a 1.5 tonne van, but now and again, you put your foot down expecting a healthy surge to find it flat, you do get an increase in speed but very slowly, its as if someone switched off the turbo hence the research. It feels like limp mode but there are no warning lights or indication of limp mode.

I plan to service it (6 months early) in a few weeks, K&N air filter, fuel (changed Mar 17) & oil filters etc and intend to get to grips with the turbo actuator and make sure it is free and well lubed, hopfully this will cure the fault.  MY2014 SD4 XS

Hi Markgbdavis

Do you have knowledge or experience of the crank sensor causing similar issues? I have read and reread lots of posts concerning this issue of power loss and I must say, there does not appear to be a straightforward answer but the crank sensor has not figured in any of them that I can see so far.  MY2014 SD4 XS

Thanks markgbdavis

Just the kind of help I have come to enjoy here, I will give it a try and let you know.

I have been reading some scary posts about similar issues needing new turbos and all manner of problems but a sensor seems likely as it may be 7 years old but it's only done 74k

Again, thanks for your help.  MY2014 SD4 XS

power loss

hi guys thanks for the interest in this.i did not find out why it did this,it only happened acouple of times over a 3 month period then nothing.
I have since changed the car for another fl2,this one is a 59 plate hse auto.we did look for an auto when we first decided to go back to a fl2 but the ones we were interested in went before we could view them,,as we both have shoulder problems and the manual did not help especially in heavy traffic. gone

ive heard of a yaw sensor, thats a sensor that measures the stability of the vehicle, causing all sorts of power loss symptons,ie it thinks the vehicle is about to roll,or slide and it will cut power, the one I know about put the Volvo in limp mode only when cold,it took for ever to find after various parts were replaced.but once the sensor was tested it was obviously giving the ecu wrong info.but don't ask me where it is!
