does anyone know where I can get the fixing brackets for the side tubes?

found the bolts and washers

found a nice pair of chrome tubes

You may struggle to get any of the fixing parts, they are sold with the kit and not normally available separately, suggest you try Duckworths but I would not hold high hopes.

On the subject of side steps, I came across this on the net. Anyone know what Deployable side-steps are

Yes, there side steps that you can deploy

I think Range Rovers have something similiar, albeit, automatic. They slide under the sill when not in use, rather than stick out so the vehicle doesn't look like a strange hovercraft, when someone needs them they can be pulled out.
On the FFRR they are electric, Freelander will be manual.


Edit: can't find deployable ones for FL, you sure you saw them?

Okay Paul, let me get this right. You get out of the car, bend down and pull out the bars, get back in the car and use them to get out of the car. They sound great, must get a set of them

Hey Mr. C I have relatives in Manchester with your surname, show some respect

Should be simple enough to fabricate, you will need to get some Rivnuts to fasten them on, fitting instructions are on the ToPix website.
I am sure someone on here could take some measurements for you to get some made, they appear to be straightforward angled brackets.

ManU-- Yes you would have to get out first, or seeing as you have to get in first and will have deployed the steps they will still be there when you get out, if they have disappeared back under the car in the meantime yoyu may get some interesting faceplants from passengers

Noticed they are also selling a deployable cigar lighter. You pull it out and it has a box of matches attached to it

Sorry Taz, been having a think about these bars.
Picture the scene me and Mrs. Manu have arranged to meet Prince William and Kate for a curry in Blackburn (thought that might appeal to you!) Mrs. Manu runs out in the rain in her high heels and her best frock, bends down and pulls out the bars. We arrive at the Osama bin Curried restaurant and Kate is looking her usual fragrant best whilst Mrs. Manu looks like she's been dragged through a hedge backwards. Worst still is she left her handbag on the floor when pulling out the bars and I have stick Wil with the bill. We have put the bar back before the meal so have go through the same routine when we leave. Now we're struggling, William's hair is wet and it's showing his bald spot, Kate is complaining that she can't keep her cheeks together after the vindaloo. Kate try's to get in car and slips between the bars because she's so thin (this puts a grin on Mrs. Manu's face for some reason) All in all the night has been a washout and all because of deployable bars

As for Blackburn, avoid it like the plague, it is a dreadful place, fortunately the M65 goes right around it.
