Normal. Normal on any disc on any car, front or rear, when they've done @10,000 miles or more. It's just the part of the disc that the pad doesn't touch so doesn't get any wear. It's only normally a concern when you are replacing the brake pads - your garage should advise you whether they need changing when the pads are next replaced. Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

Cool, so no need to replace them by the sound of things. Cheers |

No. Not unless you don't like the look of them! Never heard of a garage changing discs but not pads. Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

When I was in the trade I generally gave all the edge (both sides) a small tap with a toffee size hammer and used emery cloth to reduce corrosion and the lip when fitting pads.

No squeal? Does the mismatch of new pads and lippy rotors cause squealing? |

Can do and a little water resistant grease on back of pad were it touches the piston alleviates squeals. Use too much and your dead though Another trick is to edge the new pads, just a touch with emery paper (its dust remember) so the squeal is weeks away and so is customer. Got to be a few utubes out there showing all this. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years
