Have you thought about getting some LED bulbs for the boot?

I've replaced all my internal lights with warm white LEDs. This will reduce the draw on the battery.

Also the lights should go off after a while. Discovery 4 HSE - Aintree Green

I have changed all the bulbs to LEDs, the lights do not go off after boot open for 10 or more minutes

When all the other doors are shut and you want to leave the boot open I just push the boot latch across into the closed position, makes the car think it's shut and puts the light out.Just remember to operate the boot switch before you slam it down Embarassed

I have a lot of experience in how to ruin your cars interior cooking.

Firstly using a car is Glamping not camping Smile You will defo knock over the soup pan after consuming lots of the wobbly stuff and set fire to the interior. So I suggest you set up a cooking station with a good wind break a couple of metres away from your pride and joy. Invest in a good head torch and the rest is simples

The boot light on mine cuts off after x minutes and if your battery is in A1 condition the current used is not that bad and if you are really concerned take the bulbs out.

Oh and enjoy, my next camping trip all on foot is a month long but there are some staff (Sherpa, cook and porters) I hope to avoid this Thud as I have done this http://www.itv.com/news/calendar/2016-01-1...uard-call/ Embarassed FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

I have taken out the globe in the boot & the footwell globes. Also turned off the 2 ceiling lights.

Also, while around the car we do not fully close the doors or boot, otherwise the car's computer fires up every time. It is staggering how many times one opens the car while camping next to it. We only actually close the car's doors fully when we finally go to bed or leave the car alone.

Bought a few new 0light 600 lumen warm white head lights & have a few other small torches to replace my few year old torches, batteries last for ages if you use them on low & you can charge them up in the car while on the move & or have spare batteries. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

Replace your interior lamps with LED equivalents and totally minimise the current consumption. Simples. Brighter too!
