Haldex problem

Hi my freelander 2 ..2.2 HSE has developed the rear diff wine at 90k, so went and purchased a new complete rear diff assy haldex and all, was told it would fit Freelander 2 and Evoke...Anyhow fitted all in and no probs fitting, but till I drove car and rear wheels were in like a diff lock mode on corners, wheels jumping no warning light dash nothing, so went under and swapped out Haldex ECU from my old unit, but upon doing this I noticed the New Haldex ECU only makes one internal connection to the Haldex it self, ECU it self still has 2 internal and two on out side. and my Old haldex has two internal connections and two external, still fitted and car drives fine but now I have reduced traction light on in LCD dash. ((It only connected to one internal connection on new haldex)) My next option is to fit my old haldex to new diff and return new Haldex as its not correct for my car..I think it may be something to do with the terrain response dial in my car car as its an HSE they have the silver knob to select surface and some did not, so this could be the option on Haldex pick ups, Do I have the basic Haldex none terain response selection ...Any thoughts ???

The Haldex will be the same whether you have the terrain response dial or not. But two versions of the Haldex were used on the FL2 - your '08 will have the earlier Gen 3 version, which was superceded in 2009 by the Gen 4. Is it possible your replacement Haldex is the later Gen 4 version?

Austen is the expert but maybe all you needed to do was tell the ECU you had changed the unit (just a thought) as it will be gen 4 if it also fitted an Ewok and your original is I think a Gen 3.

I think on now reading below I am correct as Austen does confirm you need to be very nice and whisper in its ear if its MY13 onwards. So your computer probably is not a happy bunny.
