My 2007 TD4 is making this clattering noise when the engine is cold. After a short drive it goes away. It is coming from the front offside of the engine bay. There is no noise on shutdown and I've checked with the air con off and it makes no difference.

If you take the time and translate what that Russian guy had, you will see that he also had the same symptoms like you: sound disappearing when warm, in the beginning.
