Heated Wing Mirrors

Hi all
A question to you good people about heated wing mirrors. Not too sure if mine are working. After leaving the car running for 15 mins or so in the morning there doesn't appear to be any warmth coming from them. The ones on a Freelander 1 would start to steam after 10 mins or so and clear condensation as well as frost. I thought they were standard across the range? Mine's a UK spec. XS.

Its in the dealer tomorrow to sort a rattling gear lever / linkage. Didn't want to look a dope, asking them to fix something that wasn't fitted! Perhaps they're linked to the electric warmup heater that is now disconnected.

Thanks for any replies

From the handbook

Quote:
HEATED WINDOWS AND MIRRORS
The heated windscreen is switched on by briefly pressing the switch (4 [heated front window]).
Note: The operation of the heated mirrors is fully automatic, and requires no driver intervention.

Thanks.
Can anyone check their mirrors to see if they get warm after a running period in the mornings. I can't feel any noticable warmth in mine.

BTW - Have added some 2 stroke oil to diesel, with tank about half used, the engine is noticeably smoother. Sounding / feeling more like a warm engine even when cold. No noticeable change in fuel consumption yet.

Regards

Thanks guys for the replies
I'll look at them tomorrow morning with the rear demister on.
You could just have saved me looking a ...... at the dealers tomorrow.

Cheers

Martin

Will report back about fix for vibration from the gear lever (whilst under load in 4th or 6th). Has had a new remote box, but that hasn't cured it. Hopefully not an internal gearbox problem! Just linkage. 1998 Feelander XDI Hardback - Gone
