Immobilised Freelander 2!

Hi There,

My Freelander 2 (2007, HSE, i6 Auto) seems to be immobilised as I left the parking lights on and moreover the fob is stuck (well at least it will not release from the ignition space) and there is a red light which comes on and flashed below the tachometer when I try to start it.

I changed the battery this morning but to no avail, same thing.

Is there anything that anyone might recommend to reset the immobiliser and also get the FOB out.

Also, can anyone recommend a good independent Landy garage in North London, preferably in Hackney or Haringey?

Many thanks in advance,

Milo.

Quick thing to check for getting the FOB out is ensure its in Park, it won't eject otherwise.

Might be worth removing battery cables and shorting together for 30 seconds to make sure that you do a system reset in case there is some residual charge somewhere. I saw something like this on a VW once and that was what got it going eventually.
ps does anything work eg emergency flashers, lights, horn etc at the moment? 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto
5 x FL2 4 manual + 1 auto

HI Dorsetfreelander,

Many thanks for that, I shall try that.

With the new battery the light now work and the satnav and radio do come on.

I'm thinking that the transmission communication failure (TCM) is part of the immobilser function?

That sounds like it is complex and expensive? Would I have to source the BCD myself?
