A mole in the garden!

Spotted a couple of piles of soil in the garden close to the fence where it meets the fields. I knew what it would be so I swept away the soil and discovered the tunnels.

Hopefully just a one off visit but any tips for a deterrent that doesn't involve killing it?

More likely to be a Vole, I have had these, Moles produce a mound of earth which covers their hole. Plenty of images on the web. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

Don't think it's a mole - we had some earlier this year and they certainly produced bigger mounds. A cheap mole trap , following instructions, soon put payed to their activities MY 09 GS manual in Lago Grey, Wood Co arm rest and side bumper strips - now sold.

Thanks for the PM JulesK. I must say that looking online it looks less like a mole has caused it. There was a mound of soil but it was fairly wide and low, almost rectangular.

So a vole and a rat could be to blame... The wall is double by the way. LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

The question on here about whether or not it's rats, suggests it won't be rats that we have. The holes were completely covered and are only visible because I swept the soil away.

If it's a double wall with a cavity inside , it's vermin Hilton 😂. Don't muck about doc get some rat sized bait boxes against the wall . Better safe than sorry. If there is anything nasty they will be into the bait straight away and you will see from the droppings left in the box exactly what the problem is. 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership
