My 2014 SE TD4 had a flat yesterday and I had a warning on TPMS. It was parked and caused by me fitting some EBay aluminium valve caps, they had a small seal in the base which had fouled the valve core and it was sat on the rim the following morning. I blew the tyre up to 32psi, measured with my accurate gauge but the TPMS still indicates that it's low.

Had these on previous BMW's and always needed to reset on dash and drive it for a few miles hence my now correct view.

Reset is only required on systems which use the ABS sensors for TPMS.

Whatever happened to getting out, having a look at the suspect tyre, giving it a kick whilst saying ''Yep that'll do, nought wrong with it''
