Cable size is easy to check 10mm2 cable is 3.6mm diameter, turn off the supply to the mini consumer unit, drill 2 holes in a piece of wood one 3.5mm in diameter and the other 4mm, the cable should fit in the 4mm hole and not the 3.5, if it won't fit either the cable is OK, assuming you have no vernier gauge or a pair of calipers. my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis

We have instantaneous hot water 415 volts 3 phase 20 amps per phase, 24.9kW. In summer it is too hot, there is a switch on the box to turn off one phase. But I wouldn't want less for winter, the typical water temperature is roughly 12 -15 C in winter.

In the UK the normal domestic supply is single phase 230v 100A incomer, very few houses have 3phase unless converted from commercial premises. my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis

My UK house was converted from a timber frame construction yard and workshop, there is a 3 phase meter and a 1 phase to 2 consumer units, one in the house the other in the garage plus a 3 phase breaker and output socket. This may seem over the top but supplying the garage across the patio underground rather than via the house saves about 30metres of cable as it has to go the long way round due to the construction of the floors and ceiling. my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis

Each building will be on a different phase to spread load across the 3 phases. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device! yes I get that bit but dont know why all 3 houses are on 3 phase all from a central pole hub not in a chain.

Possibly due to the location of the pole with respect to the houses, but running 3 phases in a daisy chain to each house has the problem of a neutral line failure of cutting the supply to one or more houses, depending on the failure point. my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis
