The crown estate is now just a govt dept, nothing to do with the royal family anymore. my neighbour was buying some land from the crown estates, the sale nearly fell through as nobody could prove the crown actually owned the land in the first place, probably confiscated from some disobedient lord in the 14century or so, and the lord didnt give a receipt what with having his head chopped off or similar. Bit of a JLR day, couple of historic Rolls, a special order VW ( badged Bentley) , a few Merc vans with windows for the lower order guests, and a four horse power carriage, the rest were FFRR's, a few new Disco's, higher profile guests in Jags, even the B & G departing from the reception car was a Jag.
