Remote Control being erratic

My FL2 has its remote control working on and off. I've sent it to a general remote control repairer and he says there is nothing wrong with the remote itself after testing it on his electronic equipment.
Sometimes it will not open until after frantically pressing the unlock button several times and other times it won't lock. But if I dock the remote and start the engine even for a second and remove it then it works. Can anyone suggest help before I take it to a Landover garage?

That sound's very similar to what my fob was doing. It was sent to be repaired new battery and tested now works perfectly.

Do you have a spare remote? if yes do you get the same problems with that one? If both play up it could be the receiver.
Does it always play up in the same area? the reason i ask is mine plays up when i visit a particular site as part of my job but its next door to a Ambulance service HQ with a stonking great aerial transmitter on its roof.

Sounds like it may need a new battery. It gets charged when it is docked. Manual says you should use both every now and then to keep them charged. GS Sd4 2012
