Looks set a bit too far forward for me, is it not?

I'd certainly have the first bar positioned above the B pillar at the least. FL2 now gone and have a couple of items left for sale:-

Brodit active iPhone holder + Brodit dash clip,
Bluetooth Music Streaming Module.

I had a platform but removed it to save weight to carry another 20 litres of fuel.

Algebal,

what brand is your rack and how much did it cost?

Lightwater,

cool idea and cheaper than the Luggage carrier if you buy the second set of crossbars 2nd hand. WHat was the original roof rack?

Thanks in advance.
Simon

All up including rails & cross bars 75kg. 64kg net weight (rails & crossbars not included) not a lot. & if you use a roof platform of some description subtract another 15 - 20kg from the net weight! Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

Thanks for that, was looking through the manual but there’s no reference at all to it.

In the instructions which come with the crossbars it says 64kg.

I would also keep any weight on the roof as far back as possible as the front mounting of the roof rails is not exactly rock solid.

The problem we have down under is road corrugations in the outback which knock your car apart. The less you have on the roof the better as any road corrugation movement seems to get amplified on the roof. The last thing you need is metal fatigue of the car body around the roof mounting. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!
