Braking clunk?

When I pull off my drive in the morning and drive down the hill of my street, the first time i touch the brake causes a single clunk sound.

It only happens once and never again for the whole day, but the next morning the same thing, every day...

Is there something wrong or is this normal?

Thanks.

Do you park it up at home facing uphill overnight?

I wonder if this might cause the pads to shift in the caliper when you stop prior to putting the handbrake on. The next first braking causes the pads to shift to the other side on their slot in the caliper.- just a thought - I have no other explanation for a single one-off clunk every morning. Jules

Slight downhill each night. But never had it with any other car I've parked on the driveway over night.

Handbrake sticking? Could try parking it without the handbrake if possible (chucks?) And see if it happens again the next morning. FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - so many issues
2019 DS. Terribly unreliable.
Sold DS for a 2021 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. Fingers crossed....
Sold Outlander for a 2014 SD4 SE Tech because I’m mental
Now greatly regret selling the Outlander. MPG of the FL2 is atrocious and so are the fuel bills. Fun though 😎
Couldn’t afford the fuel bills so back to an older Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. Significantly better than I remembered it to be…

Try pressing brake pedal release handbrake and re apply then release again see if that stops it.
