Just rec'd a courtesy email from main dealer advising our 59 plate FL2 (40k on the clock) will shortly be due main service/MOT. To be honest in view of the lack of support from JLR/Main Dealer during the last 12 months re the rear diff bearings (now sorted by Austen) the main dealer service is unlikely to appeal to me, but the following item (included in the service from main dealer) caught my attention

• Complimentary wash and vacuum
• Free Vehicle Healthcheck
• Free Software Upgrades**

This upgrade does not relate to sat nav - however, without going to a main dealer is it possible to confirm if software upgrades are available/recommended for a particular FL2?

I probably wouldn't worry if everything is working as expected or if its in for a recall (which should be free anyway). The asterisk (* ) beside things usually raise alarm bells with me also ("We reserve the right not to bother with this..."). I would get it serviced by a competent garage, you'll save money.

if you ask the dealer will type your reg in to check any upgrades due,they did for me anyway.(no charge)
