Mavic Drone

Finally got my Mavic drone after waiting 4 months for stock to arrive in the UK.

I bought my first drone a couple of years ago for £300 and if a pigeon farted it would blow the drone off course, really hard to control (no joypad so had to use iphone or ipad) and footage was so-so, very juddery and fish-eye lense. I sold it on late last year and took my new one out yesterday. Bit nervous flying a much more expensive piece of kit but both video and photography is amazing, the clarity and smoothness is unbelievable, there was a breeze but the camera gimble counteracted it perfectly. Image below has been shrunken down to post on the forum but gives you an idea of the clarity, this was taken 120 foot up in the air - I didn't have the balls to go any higher!

Of course no post of mine is complete without an X3... Whistle

i really like the look and design of the Mavic Drone, but after my purchase of a Walkera Drone, and the resulted crashes and rebuilds, i haven't used it for a while, I rebuilt it last year and it flew fine and then i put it away and not used it since (bad weather), charging batteries and lugging the case about seems like hard work and i still haven't used it this year

Might have been better spending the £1000+ on a mavic, if only they were released then Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

A beginner's drone is a great idea to get used to flying 'nose in' (towards you) when left becomes right and right becomes left, and to develop depth and distance perception. Other than that, flying a Mavic is nothing like flying an unstablised drone.
