Stone chip paint pens

Having a black fl2 (stupid colour choice but it was second hand) there are doted around a few stone chips and small (10mm long) scratches, does anybody have experience of the colour coded stone chip paint pens? You can get primer and lacquer in the pens too, necessary?

For mine I got a can of paint from the net and just spray some in a plastic lid, wait a bit for some thinner to evaporate then use it.

You can get the correct colour from Land Rover. I got a can of white.

I have used thousands of 150ml cans for spaying models. A short squirt in the corner of the lid. Shake the can for a full 2 minutes more so if it is a metallic. If the paint needs building up, put a bit on, wait an hour then another go. The paint needs a week to fully harden so just leave it alone before you do anything to the surface.

Tip: Put a bit of masking tape over the hole in the lid so you don't accidentally leak paint onto your clothes.

It's worth getting a high quality very fine brush out of Sable tale.

A size 0 or 00 for example

Two days ago I ordered a paint pen for the i3……it’s arriving today apparently so I’ll let you know.

Mine is for door edge chips where Mrs BB bashes the wall every time, not that;l she’ll admit it Laughing

I’m not bothering with Sable brushes as it’s not the Sistine Chapel Rolling with laughter Regards

Lovely i6 has now gone, but not me......

The paint pen I ordered has the pen nib one end and a cap the other so you can use a brush or cocktail stick (a good method as it doesn’t pick up too much paint for fine chips).

TBH I have never found the paint pens that good at fine work as the nib tends to “over flow” and cause blobs too easily, but the paint pens are the cheapest way to buy the paint, you only need a small amount (15ml is plenty) as it goes a very long way. Regards

David
