Sounds expensive, must be South East pricing. I had an FL2 clutch done for about £650 a couple of years ago by my local indie (can't recall the actual amount). I said to change the DMF if it looked at all dodgy, they said that it was OK so left it in and we got rid of the car at 80k it was still going strong. My neighbour with a VW Touran at 120k miles has just had a complete clutch, DMF, slave etc plus 4 new tyres for about £1k. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto
5 x FL2 4 manual + 1 auto

ref price I can only relate to what the quotes I received, most of the indy,s I spoke to were quoting around 7 hours to carry out the work,as you can see from the prices they are varied, even between indy,s.i was not surprised at the main dealer quote at all.
I had a couple of members talk about costs for their clutches from 2 years or so back, these again varied from around £800 to £1100,so 2 years on it seemed not unreasonable at £1300.
as mentiond in posts relating to having this work done if you intend keeping the car(I do)then it is a no brainer not to have the whole job done in the first place, and not get clobbered a bit later on.
