how often do you replace your headlight bulbs ?

after the mistakes with the halfords HB3 bulbs ( too long, shatter) I swapped back to the standard Philips 0730067 9005-PR HB3 bulbs

however... i am changing bulbs about once a year - looking through my amazon orders I can see I ordered 2 bulbs on each of the following dates

28/12/2015
09/11/2016
21/01/2017

i have just put in the last spares that I got on the 21/01/2017 ( and have just ordered 2 more)

is this bulb consumption about right ? is there something wrong with my car ? i know I use auto headlights but so did my old car ( a ford) and i never replaced a headlight bulb in 5 years

ideas ?

I use standard lamps and have changed one in seven years, I think the HD lamps may be brighter but do not last as long.

I have 4 x H7s using Osram Nightbreakers. Doing about 10,000 miles annually, I find I need to change about one a year.

Maybe I'm just lucky, but in 40+ years of driving I have only ever changed one headlight bulb (Ford Escort back in the early 90's). I keep most of my cars for 5 years + and stick with whatever bulbs they come with. I know they do not all relate to Land Rovers but a lot of the issues seem to relate to uprated allegedly better bulbs. Maybe my eyesight is good at night but I've never had the need to upgrade, saying that I do have Bi-Xenons in the Metro which are extremely good. FL2 Metropolis, Loire Blue, ebony/ivory

My original standard bulbs lasted about 3 years. I replaced with Halfords +120% which lasted anything from a few days to about 3 months. Currently using Osram Nightbreakers which seem to last about 9 months with auto headlights switched off. Always carry a minimum of two spares

Might try Phillips next time or just revert to "standard"
