I purchased a brand new car once with a loan when money was tight but moral of the story is .............

My Leeds based employer a engineering company that paid extremely well in circa 1979 was constantly on strike and having just sold my soul with a large mortgage and new motor on a loan I could not turn down an opportunity to work in Saudi Arabia as interest rates were astronomical (as in 15% for a mortgage ). Also just married for a few months.

Company was on strike as I rolled up to the Yorkshire Penny Bank in Bramley Leeds with the intention of asking for some financial advice as I was going to be in the money. The female clerk asked me what I wanted and I asked to see the manager, she totted off and knowing I was on strike and came back to say he was awfully busy. I said oh dear as I was wanting to discuss what to do with sheds loads of money. Well would you believe it suddenly his diary became free ! Not long after that I opened (using my own advice) a tax free bank account in Jersey.

Those smiling scumbags in banks would sell a bent loan to their own mother so you young things trust us oldies when we say its better to buy it for cash than be in debt to them. Oh and life has not always been kind, that wife of a few months cleaned me out several years later and to add insult to injury off with a toy boy leaving me to bring up the kids. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years
