Can anyone advise on an indie in the above area,s who they have good feedback on? or recommend.i am looking around at present for prices to have my clutch done(dmf/plates and slave cylinder).might as well get it done properly.
so far I have had local stealer quote £1300, a large independent same sort of money :shock : another indie £12750
I fully appreciate they have to make a living but when the parts are available from site sponsor Advanced Factors for £301.25 all in(luk parts widely used)I has been an eye opener.at this rate I may as well let the stealers do it.

I would recommend a guy in hersden just out of Canterbury, Kent. The company is called Land Rover Service and repair.

Really nice guy who knows his stuff he helped me out when I had my codes read and loads of updates installed.

Also if be interested on what he quotes you as mine might need a new clutch too. I'm going to get the rear main oil seal done too as mins leaking and I think it will only add a few extra £££ so might as well get it all done.

I paid about £800 for mine to be done on my FL2 a couple of years ago.
Ive just been quoted £1600 for the same to be done on my Evoque by main dealer. Im in the process of arguing the case with LR customer services as Ive only had it 7 months and needed new gearbox and Xfer box in that time as well

Perhaps someone else here has used them and can provide feedback on their servicing / mechanical skills.

blimey rogb,that is a huge amount of parts/cost etc for a car that new,hope you get a good response from landrover customer services and stealer.

Warranty has already paid out for the transfer box, gearbox, and starter motor. But have so far refused to pay out for clutch, flywheel and slave cylinder, Total cost so far is either £3600 or £5900 depending on how you read the paperwork.

There are some mitigating circumstances IMO, for them to either pay for the further repairs, or put me into a new approved car at no extra cost to me. Just waiting for a response from LRCS and/or dealer.

I can recommend Mark at LRS in Hersden too.
Very accommodating with unusual requests and fitting customer supplied bits etc.
The only downside is having to wait sometimes to get a slot booked.

Yup I can recommend Mark at Hersden, and at the moment he's very busy so expect a delay in booking.

Also there is Rolly at Kent 4X4 based at selstead on the A260, (the old Canterbury to Folkestone rd)

Kent 4X4 has a courtesy car too

I am going to be around the Upton area with the caravan in September and see you are ony 45mins away,i am hoping you can do a service on my haldex while I am there,also trying to get a friend to have his done as they are going with us with us with their freelander 2.I will mail you when I get the caravan site booked.
