Nurse

Just had to visit our local hospital for a routine appointment for the other half. Wow! what the hell has happened to all the nursing staff. Every one (and I mean every one) was obese, huge great land whales wobbling about and panting like they were about to keel over. I know they complain about access to decent food (there is a restaurant that serves healthy looking grub) but seriously, something needs to happen soon before one does a Mr Creosote and causes mayhem. You really would think that medically trained people would take better care. Mind you, most of the patients are not much better, I can't see the human race lasting much longer. FL2 Metropolis, Loire Blue, ebony/ivory

Your hospital must serve better for than those in my area, for work I am regularly in five hospitals A/E departments and the eye candy has to be seen to be believed with only the odd swamp moose in sight

I agree regarding the amount of obese staff in hospitals, perhaps it's all the chocolates that grateful patients hand in after treatment ,as a regular outpatient in hospital and a people watcher it never fails to amaze me the large number of obese people around

You could be correct about grateful patients buying chocolates as gifts as we have done the same (but only after an in patient stay where you get to know them). Not sure a season ticket to the local gym or a course from weightwatchers would be so readily accepted though Very Happy . FL2 Metropolis, Loire Blue, ebony/ivory

Temptation everywhere, this is a petrol station, however, my local hospital has a WH Smith in the entrance, looks just like this, except its full of people with a fag in their gob wheeling a drip stand around, you can't fix stupid.

Try watching something thought provoking ,

STOP JUDGING PEOPLE

https://www.facebook.com/HigherPerspective...903142357/
then ask yourself would you realy care if the "eye candy" is there or not when you are in desperate need , it is not the size of the person that matters but the size of heart that gives everything without asking .

that is the measure of a truly BIG PERSON in my book .... Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Wales

Thought provoking? Maybe. The huge specimens I alluded to in the beginning of this thread are slowly killing themselves with their lifestyle. If it is not PC to state that well maybe I'm not PC. Whilst I appreciate the dedication and knowledge that nurses show to their patients I also find it wrong that we should accept obesity as a norm within the population. In the same way that drink driving has been stigmatized (no-one condones downing 10 pints then going for a trip up the M1) we should also be discouraging obesity and not pussy footing about because its their "right" to be fat. Over the years the medical profession have cured and alleviated many diseases, made the general population healthier and generally made people live longer. To now reverse that because everyone has "rights" but no "responsibility" is bonkers (yes I know the cured diseases are different to the ones caused by obesity, but dying early is the same whatever the cause, and dying early because of an inability to control diet is just plain stupid). Am I saying fat people are stupid? No, not stupid, irresponsible.
