Rear Centre 12v Socket

Hello,

Another question for you amazing people, well more of a query, i have recently bought a new 12 charger and ti has a LED on it. I have noticed that when plugged into the 12v at the rear of the centre console the charger is always on and lit up, even when the car has been off for a few days. Do other have the same fault, ive tried to do a search but couldn't come up with anything.
I've moved the charger to the front socket and it turns off, and also checked with another charger and same thing happens.

Its not too much of an issue as i doubt the one small LED will drain the battery very fast but more of a "hmmm thats odd" occurrence.

Thanks
Alex

The front aux socket is ignition fed, so only works with the ignition turned on. (I used to have a Garmin sat nav installed in the cubby box powered off the front socket so it turned on/off with the key)

The rear aux socket is a permanent live, so you can run a cool box or other accessory off it full time. Drain on the vehicle battery will of course be in line with what you are plugging in so a small LED will not draw much at all, but will eventually have an effect if you don't use the car.

Now retired so it doesn't matter anymore.

I use the socket at the rear to charge the battery (ctek charger). If only our Freelander 1 had one too!

I think this may have changed with the late model cars. I tried my Ctek and the rear socket seems to power down after a period. I now have a fly lead connected to the battery for auxiliary charging. FL2 Metropolis, Loire Blue, ebony/ivory
