freelander 2 boost problems

hi people, I have just bought a 58 plate landrover freelander 2 XS td4 diesel on my way home tonight everything was going ok until I was about 10 miles from home when i lost power but it was intermittent at first with a whooshing noise and revs not going past 3000 revs. its too dark to look at it tonight but will be taking it back to the garage tomorrow.
At first it was very intermittent but eventually got worse. no warning lights on the dash.

cheers if anybody has an idea?
Confused

Low power & whooshing noise usually means a split turbo hose, more often than not it's the front one that attaches to the throttle valve.

Hope you get it sorted soon.

to follow on from my earlier post, I took the car back to the garage and they said that the only code that came up was low fuel pressure. The asked me if I had run the tank low. I said I picked it up from the garage with very little fuel in it but when the problem occurred I had half a tank of fuel. Got the impression that it was the fuel filter.
the garage reset the codes and now not in limp mode but whenever I put my foot down I hear a brief squeak noise as if it was a squeaking foot peddle if you know what I mean.
Anyway I am away from home on work business so have not used the car since 21st February.
Could it be the turbocharger as it only happens when I put the engine underload and its only briefly?
Or should I go ahead first and change the fuel filter?

thanks

I would be asking them to get it all corrected within 28 days of purchase. Otherwise your rights to get your money back easily go out of the Window (I understand). FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years
FL2 MY13 TD4 GS Current
