Opinions on this

Sat in queuing traffic in a 30 zone but on a busy main road. I noticed a car quite a way back that appeared to be overtaking everyone. I assumed he was going to be turning off ahead and so took a chance with the traffic.

In fact, he was waiting for oncoming traffic to cease to a sufficient enough degree for him to overtake several queuing cars and then cut back in line when he saw a gap. He then waited for his next chance and did the same thing again.

So, do we think he is an annoying idiot who deserves a comeuppance or do we applaud him for taking a chance to beat the traffic rather than just sitting there? He certainly didn't need to use excess speed to get past. Sticking to 30 was good for plenty of progress.

Any thoughts? LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

if he did it without speeding or pushing his way in then ok, if not then hang him. Common sense isn't very common.

I think I might join him then. I was just sat there getting annoyed as he made progress but if you can't beat em join em.

Sods law states that the moment I try it, someone will pull out from a side street and there won't be a gap for me to pull into. Whereas he probably gets away with it every time Rolling Eyes LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

was it a BMW? if so they always find a gap, should still be hung though, just for having one. Rolling with laughter Common sense isn't very common.

I can't understand why people queue in the left lane for miles, I'll happily drive up to a roundabout and go all the way round if it gets me to where I want to go. Easier these days now that snowflakes are behind the wheel.

My Vote is he was a tosser. He may expedite his progress, but undoubtedly if he " Cut In" as you described he will be causing the guy behind him to touch his brakes, then 20 cars behind someone comes to a standstill, so he is a selfish road user Thumbs Up 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership

There's a fine line to be drawn between someone making good progress in slow moving traffic and a queue jumping to5*er!

If he inconvenienced no one, while performing a dazzling array of driving skills, he's the former; if he hacked everyone off by making everyone else wait just that little bit longer, while he pushed in at the front, he's the latter and he should be ground down to a fine paste and sent to landfill Evil or Very Mad

We don't know his reasons, what would your attitude be if his wife was on the back seat with a babies head between her legs?
Lots of conclusions can be drawn as to his actions, if he was a complete idiot he surely wouldn't have cared so much about oncoming traffic?
