So i refitted the old caliper with the broken seal since I needed to move the car. Then i bled the system but recalibrating the hand brake took some work but eventually it also worked (basically putting it in and out of maintenance mode for a few times until there were no errors on the dash and the hand brake was releasing and engaging properly). As a general rule, dont forget to put it in maintenance mode BEFORE starting any work on your rear brakes
