2007 Auto Freelander 2 - Immobiliser problems

Hi folks, I have a 2007 automatic Freelander 2. In early 2016 I came to the car, inserted the key, pressed the brake (auto method) and pressed the start button. Result a car that would not start. The only way to start the car was to disconnect the battery count to ten and re-attach.
Even the RAC did not know about this fix to get you home.
This was intermittent at the start but became more regular. My garage (not a LR Dealer but with contacts!) tried everything but eventually changed the immobiliser.
I am told, looking at the dashboard there are two immobilisers, one on the left and one on the right. The left one was changed (lots of money) but the fix only lasted a couple of weeks.
Now the few people at LandRover who know what they are talking about ask one question. When you press the start button does the steering wheel give a small kick. If not the righthand side immobiliser is faulty.
I had this changed (over £1000) and it has lasted for about 7 months without any problems.
Four days ago bang the car again would not start and I am now back to using the 10mm spanner on the battery. My garage agrees the part is still under guarantee but I will have to wait until the new year to get it fixed again.
Could any of you good people think of a reason why the 2016 new part has failed? Could there be an underlying fault within the car to trigger a failure?
When the latest immobiliser was fitted the car had a full LandRover software update to take account of the difference between the ages of the car and the new part.
PS I fitted a new battery 3 weeks ago.

Is there any message on the instruments when this happens?
When you disconnect the battery and then reconnect it, you start the car immediately?
If yes, please try the followings: when happens again, disconnect and then reconnect the battery but then wait 5-10 minutes before trying to start it again.
If it doesn't start, then it's not the immo. It's the instruments at fault.

Is the new battery completely correct for this car and did you have it coded to the car on fitting it ? Read on here that the car needs to know it has a new battery or it has to learn that over a few days. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

Once with the start/stop system implementation. I believe from MY2010 onward...
There you will have a battery monitor system that will collect the information in order to know when and how to charge the battery.
And even from MY2010 onward, I have a feeling that an automatic car will not have a BMS, as it doesn't have start/stop system.

Guess having the right amperage battery is still relevant though. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

Hi folks an update. After constant refusals to start over Xmas, the vehicle was scanned for problems which revealed
P1259 Immobilizer To Powertrain Control Module Signal Error
P1298 Injector Driver Module Failure.

The contact at the Land Rover Dealer my mechanic has, revealed that this was a common fault and subject to a Freelander bulletin provided to mechanics at Land Rover, and a solution.

This meant connecting my Freelander to Land Rovers system and updating my vehicle.

Fingers crossed it is now going.

Hope this will be of some help to others on the forum.

This recurring problem has decided me to look at changing the vehicle and it would not be a Land rover. I have been passed info that the latest Discovery's are having major engine probs and the engines or now in short supply!!
