So, after nearly nine years brilliant service ‘Muddy’ (X500MUD), my 57-plate 08 SE Auto is going. Only twice into a garage for anything other than service & MOT in 70k trouble-free miles. First brake reline at 68k! This was one of the trips to a garage, the other was for two new injectors at 64k. Halfway through her third set of tyres and still running sweetly. Brilliant on-road and even better off, often with the passengers shutting their eyes or trying to hide behind their seats.
SO... what would you replace such a paragon with? Got it in one! The new ‘Muddy’ is a 64-plate 2016 Metropolis with 16k on the clock. Looking forward to many more years of happy Freelander motoring and - mostly, lurking on Freel2.com!
Incidentally, the Dealer offered £7k p/x - which is probably about right but at that price for a private sale, would a bit of a steal in my book.

I hadn't heard that abbreviation before, I much prefer it (ironically, "Metropolis" always sounded like it should be the name of a Mini or Metro special edition anyway!)
