So, Christmas Eve is upon us. What do you guys have planned? We aren't hosting this year so no visit to the butchers required. Just got a few jobs to do here and there and will take Toby for a walk before heading to a local pub and restaurant for a meal with the family. A pint of Guinness awaits

Shocked when at my local someone bought a pint of Guinness (this new fangled way of the glass on some sort of vibrating pad) £4.65 there again my pint of shandy (driving) was £3.00. No wonder pubs are empty.

Got the family coming round in about an hour for nibbles and stuff then they are all going home later but leaving the mother in law here until we return her to them on Boxing Day. Then, son and girlfriend are going out locally tonight so are staying over (we've got to look after the Granddog for them this evening) then tomorrow it's me the wife, the MIL, son and girlfriend, daughter and boyfriend for lunch. Son and girlfriend staying over again then after Boxing Day we have one day to ourselves and then we are going away for a week over the new year to a house we have rented in Devon. 14 of us, 8 cocker spaniels, a retriever and a ridgeback! Should be fun as this house has its own cinema and indoor pool and we plan to swim with our dogs! Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

I got a very large and expensive bottle of Champagne (as a prize from a lease company) in 1999. Having no other use for it, I put in in the cupboard awaiting my new born's 18th birthday, in 2017. It was only a few years ago that I learned that champagne only has a shelf life of about 4 years! It's still in the cupboard now.... |

that green stuff brings back memories of chasing it during a college pub crawl. I forget the rest but we did put a girls hair in the mangle and leave her until she got really angry At work

My mother in law had six unopened large Bollinger champagne bottles at the back of her cupboard which have been there for years so we decided to open one, it was flat so we opened another and then another and so on..... All 6 had gone off. They had all been stored on their sides so it wasn't that the corks had dried out. We couldn't find any dates on the bottles but I am guessing at least 20 + years. I too thought this stuff lasted for years! 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto 5 x FL2 4 manual + 1 auto Now Discovery Sport P250 MHEV SE |

I'm going to spend the afternoon sitting sadly in front of a screen looking at Land Rover forums (fora?). Otherwise I'll have to go downstairs and listen to the wife's mother. Might have a beer in a bit. And then I'll cook the evening meal - she can't stay long in the kitchen because I moved all the seats out.

After four years it looses the fizz but starts to ferment into a most delightfull liqueur. Just keep it for a few more years. Everyone can spread it - Anyone can catch it. Stay home - the life you save can be your own! |
