LED's

Hi. Anyone using these? Are they worth having and is this a good price??

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2-x-Land-Rover-Freel...240%3A1318

Also are the LED interor lights any good on E-bay? Which are best, the 6 or 8 bulb versions??

Cheers guys Thumbs Up Gone - TD4 XS Auto, Sumatra Black, Mud flaps and side strips, clear indicators, private plate, privacy glass

I started with some similar to that, but found the difference between Tail & Stop very small.
I now use somethink LIKE these http://www.ultraleds.co.uk/3801157-ultrato...b45d3f7871 (Like these, but not the same, I cant find what I use now).

If you use LED tail/stop lamps, you will need a ballast resistor accross the tail-light wires, or they will pulse. SOMEWHERE in these forums, I have a quick description on this mod.

Take a look at this thread:

Although it starts of about side repeaters/vents...it gets side-tracked into tail/break light & Indicator LED replacements... '57 FL2 GS

Can I point out that ULTRALEDS have given quite a few members of DISCO3 very very poor service

sending out bulbs that were not working, and giving the they was when they left here response

Stating that they had not received back £40 worth of bulbs, allegedly because they was not sent recorded, even though he gave him the impression they had received them back

Sending very unprofessional emails etc

Thanks for that mburton2, I'll have a look. Sounds too fiddly for me. I may just stick with interior ones!! Thumbs Up Gone - TD4 XS Auto, Sumatra Black, Mud flaps and side strips, clear indicators, private plate, privacy glass

I'm sure they will be other companies that give better service

I used them when i got my interior ones, didn't have a problem, but then i didn't need to contact them after placing the order Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Fair-play npinks...

I've not used Ultraleds for a while...I've been using a seller on ebay that has been ALOT cheaper....
http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/gxxled
Have also used
http://www.dealextreme.com/products.dx/category.712 a few times, Dirt cheap (When the exchange-rate was better, but have to be carefull of some items that may lack "Quality"....but the on-site customer reviews are good there. Expect stuff to take 7-10 days to arrive

philsh,

I would opt for a lamp with more side-ways pointing leds, like
http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.13426
Although its not TOO important at the back.
IF you change the indicator lamps, the ones like you link-to dont give the front indicator a very wide field-of-view (you need to be direct infront of the vehicle to view the light). Lamps with extra side-ways pointing leds, fill the whole indicator lamp assembly with yellow light, making it more visable from more angles..

remember, IF you do indicators, you need the OFF-SET pins. '57 FL2 GS
