Incorrect MOT expiry dates

I took my wife's car to be MOT'ed last saturday, it had until the 20th of December so I though I would do it early incase of any issues. Car passed no problem. On Sunday I was looking at the certificate and realized the anniversary of the expiry date hadn't been preserved.

I found this link of the internet which describes the issue
https://www.gov.uk/guidance/mot-testing-se...orkarounds

Apparently there has been some issues with cars with private reg plates (such as my wife's car), I emailed the DVSA and explained the issue with the expiry date and link etc, they've emailed me back saying the certificate has now been amended to show the proper expiry date.

Something to watch out for if you have a private plate next time you have a MOT. Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker.
Gone MY2010 Freelander 2 Manual TD4.e S, Alaska White.

This happened to me last year but fortunately my brother did the mot and noticed it so he sorted it for me,it took a while for the new certificate to come through though.

Down under we do not have to get the car looked at (pick slip as we call it) for the first few years. Just renewed my rego for the next year. Next time I will need to get a pick slip (MOT as you call it).

In NSW do not have to put a rego sticker on the car anymore, they stopped that a few years ago.

Keeping the car on the road here:
Registration $505
Pink slip $39 (first one next year)
Compulsory third party personal injury insurance $624
Comprehensive insurance good driver $986 Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

In 1982 I spent a year working in an Audi/VW/Porsche dealer in South Africa. Cars only had to get an 'MOT' each time they were sold and their version of tax and (tpo) insurance were something silly like £20 per year and it didn't matter what car you had. I had a 3 litre Capri. Mr. Green Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

That compares with a 2008 Auto in the UK
Road tax £295
MOT £42
Fully comprehensive insurance business use 10 years no claims £920
As in NSW tax disc no longer displayed MOT after 3 years and every year after that. Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her

In France there is no annual 'road tax' just a one time registration fee of 36€ per Fiscal HP (CV), a 2.2 diesel FL2 is 11 CV. This is reduced by 50% for vehicles over 10 years old.

The CT (MoT) test is every 2 years starting when the vehicle is 4 years old and costs 72€, if a vehicle fails, even on the day the old one expires, you get 2 months to fix the problems during which time you can still drive the vehicle.

You can't register a vehicle if the CT is more than 6 months old.

Our fully comp insurance with full No Claims (50%) is 420€ a year but that does include full European breakdown cover.

Both the Insurance and CT vignettes are stuck on the windscreen.

Your insurance seems very high there

My FL2 2010 Auto HSE was £530 including breakdown cover with 10 yrs no claims, class1 business and 1 claim from 2013.
Its a fraction less for my Evoque

Got 2 quotes before I went with NFU again, been with them since 2006.

1 accident 5 years ago, hit up the rear, sued the guys insurance privately so my insurance not involved.
Prior to that no claims for 10 years driving 40-50k a year business use, parked in street outside house.
As a comparison Gills Micra is under £200 comprehensive as a housewife again no claims for at least 10 years, so I don't think it's the area. Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her
