Nokian Hakkapeliitta R winter tire review

With winter coming (or already here) for most of us, I thought I'd mention my very positive experience with the Nokian Hakkapeliitta R's.

The traction on ice, wet and dry snow, as well as overall handling has been second to none for a non-studded tire. Although I suspect this was in some ways helped by the weight of the vehicle, I'm really satisfied with them.

They've been on the FL2 since winter '10-'11, for a combined 50,000 kms I would say, and shown excellent wear resistance (aided in great part by our wintery roads and cold weather in Saskatchewan).

Nokian has since replaced them with the Hakkapeliitta R2 SUV, and I'm definitely thinking of getting them sooner than later, most likely next winter as my R's will be worn by then.

Cheers
