IME, it will be nothing to do with the battery. My MY10 had identical symptoms to yours. Was fixed by the dealer removing tank and replacing sender unit wiring. Although the car was under extended warranty, LRCS paid in full as it was "a known fault" & warranty co refused it.

Bob should have made it more clear, car is of the road until I get the battery. Now at the point when I learn something new something old is lost out the other side !

Do a search for "Erratic Fuel Guage". Loads of information on this site. It won't be the battery! |

LRCS will insist you take it to a dealer for diagnosis and report anyway. I have an extended warranty so took it straight to the dealer. The warranty/LRCS politics was undertaken without my involvement. Just "Here are your keys sir". I had the erratic fuel gauge TSB fix done by a local LR dealer I had never used before. The car was 3.5 years out of warranty but had a full LR Service history from another Dealer. Cost me less than a new battery Speak to your local LR Dealer - You may be pleasantly surprised. FL2 HSE Auto Galway Green Evoque SD4 Auto Blue. FL1 HSE TD4 Manual Black - Gone.
