Pictures of my tyre carrier as promised

Hi all,
Earlier I promised once on the car that I would post a couple of photos of the tyre carrier I built, so here they are.
The mounting plates (10mm thick) bolt into the location for the tow bar and the carrier attachment arms (16mm thick) bolts onto these plates. If i had my time again I'd do a bit different though and not weld the attachment arms onto the carrier main beam.

Carrier is made from 100x50x3mm RHS. I designed and made the locking arms, there are pins on the side that stop the arms from opening too far and in case of failure.

Unfortunately the lights are globe style cause I couldn't be bothered to sort out LED lights.

Wheels don't extend past the car although in the picture they look like they do (cant see in wing mirrors).

Doing a 500km trip so will see how they go....

That is nicely done! I was contemplating making a single carrier, and this is so much neater than what I had in mind.

I could do with a carrier for a single wheel as my wheel well is full of gas tank.
