Torx v standard socket

A silly question as I'm finall going to start my diff replacement tomorrow.

I have a torx socket to fit the prop shaft bolts but it is not a 1/2" drive, which I would prefer. Does a standard socket do the job or do they mess up the bolts? Only dead fish go with the flow

3/8" drive should be fine. Don't try a standard socket you'll make a right mess of the bolt head. Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

Right tools for the job, don't use a socket, the torx sockets aren't that expensive, as said 3/8" should be fine, breaker bar first them ratchet.

Good luck!! Wink

Not even sure torx sockets come in that size in 1/2" drive and if they do, you might have trouble getting a 1/2" drive socket on there looking at the clearance between the bolt head and the prop flange body. Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto
