Jerky Driving in my diesel Freelander Metropolis

My 2014 Freelander Metropolis Diesel has developed what I can only describe as "Kangaroo Petrol".

It did it a towards the start of a couple of journeys before its' recent major service. I mentioned it at the service and they checked but found no faults. They did re-map or re-synchronize the EGR with something (I wish I'd written down now what they did) but it has not made any difference.

Today it did it again about 3 hours into a 4 hour drive (and at least 20 minutes after my last stop). Then I took the car out for a short drive this evening and, as I backed off the accelerator pedal at about 30 mph, it did it big time, about 2 seconds of "on-off-on-off" power delivery.

The car has done 16,000 miles from new. I am the second owner and bought it at 10,000 miles. It is just over 2 years old now. At the recent service it had new air and fuel filters.

(The only modifications the vehicle has are 17 inch alloys (instead of 19 inch) and a front stainless steel under-shield, neither of which should really matter)

I'm starting to think I can feel a general jittery-ness about the way the car drives all the time now but that may be me being over sensitive!

Any ideas about the major episodes of Kangaroo Petrol?

Regards

My 2014 did the same now and again. Mine did it on light throttle when using command shift at certain temperatures. Don't know what the dealer did to fix it. But whatever they did I now have a plastic cog grinding noise under he same circumstances. Another mechanic has told me to change the throttle body so I will mention that to dealer soon.

Thanks Wurzel

Mine tends to do it on light throttle or when lifting off (I think). It seems to do it whether I'm in D or S or using command shift.

If you find out any more let me know.
