early SD4 hesitation

I know this has been raised countless times on here and search brings a multitude of threads and issues but thought I would put this under a new thread to avoid having to post multiple times

I recently swapped my 2010 TD4 Auto FL2 for a 2012 (2013MY) SD4 Evoque manual.

Ive had it about 3 weeks now and have experienced the dreaded hesitation a few times, and lumpiness under general driving.

it had to go back to the LR dealer for some sales/warranty work to be done including a B service. I mentioned the hesitation to them and they claimed to know what the problem could be.

besides the service with fuel filter change, they have flashed a software update to the TCM module, blown out the pipes and recalibrated the sensors (im presuming all those associated with throttle response etc)

Lo and behold, the car is running smoother and no sign as yet of the hesitation.

ill keep a check and update accordingly.

Yeah, that's the Q585 campaign. Only applies to 2.2 Evoques with the 6 speed gearbox. I'm having mine done when it goes in for service next month. Don't know whether it applies to FL2's but I don't see why not, especially the later SD4 ones. Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto
Evoque SD4 Dynamic Lux Auto
Present: Audi A3 S Line.

LR threw the sales ad out to me and I said no as it was beyond my reach financially. So they came back with a revised deal. After 4 or 5 deals were put in front of me Ive ended up paying the same for the 3.5 yr old Evoque as I was paying for the 6 yr old FL2 but with the full approved package on top. it was a no brainer to me.

FL2 are great cars as you well know, but Ive always like the Evoque and they are a very different beast inside and out while still ticking all my wish boxes.

Mods already being planned Laughing (murdering this one out as the shape suits it better than a murdered out FL2 IMO)

As the engines are the same (someone correct me if im wrong) I assumed it would apply to SD4 FL2 as well.

Cant believe the on road difference between 2.2 TD4 and 2.2 SD4 though Very Happy

I'm not alone! I have all the symptoms you describe RogB with my SD4. (Freelander)

I took it back to the dealer thinking I had a gearbox fault, but they told me it was a problem with the EGR valves 'fluttering', so it had a software update and a reset of something way to technical for me to understand.

No joy, problem persists so its going back in again. Its annoying to say the least.

My previous thread.

If the engines are the same, then it may be the same fault. Updated- Waiting for a Scotland v England 6 Nations home win. 24th Feb 2018
