My sons l200 had a front end bump, with him driving in the snow.same sort of damage.leading edge of bonnet, front bumper ,head lamp,d/side wing.the insurance wrote it of with the repair agent saying rad damage wiring etc.in short we got payed out and bought the car back.it cost around £400 to get it back on the road.there was no damage to the rad etc.i think th main part of the cost is labour.l200 still running ok after 3 years.i think there to quick to write of cars now.as said before these are robust trucks .looks a bargain ,any photo pre repair.
Bob.

My freelander is a cat d as have been all my cars for last 20 yrs had some great motors and saved a fortune just do your checks is best advice . I just buy lightly damaged stuff and get the bits off eBay or breakers great when you drop on parts the same colour . The phrase “write off “ scares people yet it can be just a headlight and a bumper scuff to be an insurance payout . I bet 90% of cars on road have had at least one bump in their time anyway ..
