Rails for the panoramic roof are taller to leave room for the roof to open.

I can't comment on the pricing, but £140 for the standard rails would appear to be after-market pricing not genuine LR.

If you have a see-through roof you will need the more expensive rails. There are a few close up photos at the end of my gallery in relation to non see-through roofs!.

the FL2 was launched they had one set of roof rails, then it became apparent that they caused wind noise when fitted to the panoramic roof, they were redesigned to launch a none noisey roof rail

both will fit, it just depends on your hearing as to whether they will make a difference Thumbs Up Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Looked at getting roof rails for my new FL2 but decided that the amount I would use them did not make the cost arguement - I aslo have the panoramic roof.

Decided to spend less money on a Thule setup with the bars that slide out - still cheaper than rails and bars and so much easier to use.

And zero wind noise when not fitted!!

Hi hefilump, Just a follow on to your info on the Thule Roof Box setup. Does the sunroof still open and function OK with this installed.?

I bought some aftermarket roof rails which were sold as ones specifically for sunroofs (replacement for LR07220)...I had no noise at first, but now the noise from the roof is driving me crazy!

It's either because the rails aren't the right ones (and I believe the only difference is the sun roof version has more ridges on the cross bar to disrupt the flow and there is no difference in height), or its because I replaced the bulb in the high level brake light and the lens is now a lot freer than it was and its that which is vibrating. I may try fixing the high level light before removing the rails.

Haven't tried that one yet - last time was too wet! Using the roofbox again next week so will try and then let you know.

Thanks, I will await your findings. I'm visiting Scotland in September and am considering fixing one of these for the extra space. Having said that, I don't know why I'm worrying about having the sunroof open in Scotland !! Rolling Eyes Whistle
