Rust remover

I have a bit of rust on my towbar , the part that sticks out that holds the electrics , it's just surface rust. It's getting a bit unsightly so I want to remove the rust without taking bracket off and sanding it down . Hammerite have a 3 products , when you read up about them they all seem to do the same thing ie turn rust back to metal .
Can any of you guys recommend hammerite or another product ? Do it now ! Your a long time dead !!

Ive found hammerite tends to last about a year of so on a tow bar and the rust starts to reappear Rolling Eyes you might as well use a crown paint!

I did my fl2 spacer block in matt black and its still as good as the day I done it. I've sprayed my whole towbar with it and it gives it a brand new out of the box look.

Thanks nut , but I would rather have something that isn't a spray , know I'm lazy but I don't want to mask the back end of the car. Do it now ! Your a long time dead !!

I have used the hammerite kurust for various projects and it seems to work well, but does need over coating.
The hammerite direct to rust paint isn't too bad, but what ever you choose does need some rubbing down of the rust first.

Thanks tiny , that was the stuff I had my eye on, it's good to hear first hand experience . It's just a wee bit of rust so rubbing down won't take much ... LR nuts spray looks like it did a great job but the area effected doesn't need a finish as good as that . I will get kurust and black hammerite paint today. Do it now ! Your a long time dead !!

i have read good reviews about the Bilt Hamber range, used by some of the expert car details such as Polished Bliss, i think he used it on his own Porsche, and results were great Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

If you are using the kurust you don't necessarily need to get the direct to rust hammerite paint as the rust has been taken care of.,so any top coat should do. It depends where you intend to buy from which will be the deciding factor in your choice of brush applied products though.
