That's some scary stuff right there. I have to say I think it'd be worth taking to an LR dealer just to see what they say - £90 is a small amount to pay in comparison to the lack of trust you will have in the vehicle. Not worth the safety of yourself, your passengers or other road users.

My vehicle was taken to a Land Rover specialist, who had the right equipment to check it out. The difference is that I paid £45 instead of £90 , which Stratstone charge.

I'm making a complaint to the RAC, regarding their staff member. As mentioned, he didn't even bother to lift the bonnet up, but said about taking the vehicle to the local LR repair/service garage. He also said that the owner was a good friend of his.

i had a FL2 that would cut out, this happened after a short blip and a bounce of the rev needle

no fault code, but they deduced that the radiator was full of mud, causing the engine to turn off due to it thinking it was over heating, even though it wasn't, they replaced the thermostat, just before finding the radiator and the mud and blamed that, even though that was there for 18months prior

So i think it was a faulty thermostat, and nothing to do with the mud

If the radiator is full - and I mean down to 10% the car will go into limp home mode. On the auto the gearbox will also sulk as the oil needs the "engine radiator " for cooling. This is with the intercooler completely blocked with mud, and the air-con radiator also blocked.
Cost two new rads and a lot of the intercooler cleaning Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her
Replaced by Ewok what a mistake - now a happy Disco Sport owner
