When I got my FL2 it came with two keys, one was working but very battered looking and the other, while looking OK didn't work at all.

The rubber side of my 14MY remote key fob had 'spread' and was flapping about. I had tried super gluing it back but that failed.

If anyone would like a blank fob I have an unused one (plus a new battery I think) languishing in the man drawer.

I used a silicone cover on my fob for about 2 years and the glue melted on the plastic casing of the fob, which sounds like this 'spreading'. I cleaned the glue up and wiped the inside of the silicone cover and it now keeops the loose casing in place. There are similar silicone covers on eBay from an Australian seller now I believe. I think mine were from Far East |

Why pay for something that should be replaced under warranty,as you say you probably are doing something wrong! |

Had both my key fobs replaced under warranty, they put your 'innards' into new cases. With mine the rubbery covering became detached from the metal shell. |

Really glad to have come across this earlier this week as my key fob has recently split off (MY2103).

Does anybody have any experience with the earlier key fobs cases that are being sold on flea bay? I need a new case for my 2011MY but there seems to be a vast difference in price for the same thing.

Mine was only $20 posted from China on ebay and my car is a 2008 model. It came with a blank key and no internals, I had to use my existing key and circuit board. The expensive ones may have their own circuit boards which need to be programmed to suit your car. You need an existing working key fob to do that. |
