D1s or D3s Xenons

Hoping someone can clear up my confusion. This may have been asked before but have searched and can't find the answer.

All the sites I go to for bulbs tell me that my MY13 (63plate) has D1s xenon bulbs.

But when I took the headlamps out to replace the bulbs the ones in the lamps said they were D3s. Now I know they are not interchangeable because they work at different voltages but why the difference? Has anyone else got this issue?

Another question is once I have discovered the answer of what the bulb is, how do I get the plastic securing ring off the old bulb and onto the new one?

Would be grateful for any tips / advice

Dave

I think it is D3S from memory, this may help?

Plastic ring is very stiff, I struggled but they do come off, made worse by the delicate nature of the tube.

Edit : Just looked up my order and it was D3S
