Car struggling!!

Hi guys, looking for a bit of advice, for a week or so I was driving my FL2 and it would be juddering slightly, I also noticed that it was struggling a fair bit, as in I would be driving a long a flat road and it would suddenly drop gear as if it was struggling when it shouldn’t be. On my way to work on sunday the car went into reduced performance mode, I pulled over, turned it off and then back on again which seemed to clear it so I drove home and took the wife’s car to work. I’ve driven the car a few times since then because I’ve had too but I’m noticing it’s still struggling and now it won’t really go above 60mph, foot to the floor and it makes no difference. The car was due a service 300 miles ago so I’ve got it booked in for it’s service and MOT this Tuesday. I’ve read most of the past threads on here regarding ‘reduced performance mode’ but I’m none the wiser. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this?

Thanks

You need to have any error codes read

As mentioned, getting the codes read would give a better indication of where the issue(s) may lie.

Have you noticed if there is black smoke coming out of the exhaust when you put your foot down, it could be that there is an split in one of the intercooler hoses which would cause a similar effect

Yeah mechanic says he’ll hook it up the the machine when it’s in the garage, was just wondering if anyone had the same problem. No not noticed any black smoke but will have a look out for it, thanks

An easy first check would be fuel fllter.

Yeah I noticed fuel filter was popping up a lot in the other related threads, think I’ll get that changed and see if it helps. Hopefully a service helps rectify the problem too

Sorry, meant to add, my average mpg has went down from about 34 to 28 so don’t know if that’s got anything to do with it

If you have fuel feed problems, are you sure that the FL2 is not just going in to 'Limp Mode' and trying to protect the fuel pump and other bits.
I had similar 'power cuts' when the FL2 'fuel gauge problem' caused my car to think I was running out of fuel, even with just under half a tank remaining.

(Expensive, but Trouble/Worry free - hopefully?)
