Exterior mirrors (side mirrors) not working

Hello,

I found this in a round about way, but I have a problem with the electric exterior mirrors (side mirrors). When you press the L or R button the green tell-tale light does not come on.
Can't adjust the mirror with toggle switch either. Probably related to above.
When you try to fold the mirrors using L and R at same time, only driver one folds and unfolds.
All windows go up and down fine.
Central Locking all works fine.

I did buy a new (second hand) button switch unit but exactly the same behaviour.

The problem is causing a parasitic current draw on the battery when left parked, even when double locked.

Any suggestions from your experience what it could be and how to check/test?

Thanks,
Malcolm

Is the mirror not just stuck with lack of lubrication. Used to happen with mine. Used a load of release oil then silicon gease. Now works fine as long as I do it regular. Now at the point when I learn something new something old is lost out the other side !
Now retired so it doesn't matter anymore.
Freelander now gone.

Thanks for getting back to me, I will look at that. It may be the problem with the passenger mirror but doesn't explain that when I press L or R the tell tail doesn't come on and the mirror does not adjust.

I would not care about the electric mirrors if there wasn't something causing the battery to go flat.

Cheers,
Malcolm

Disconnect the loom to them possibly then, that is assuming it does not then give a stupid fault code. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years
