I read the other day that Ozzie sat navs are having a problem since the continent has moved about 1.5 metres since the digital maps were created about 20 years ago. Evidently the whole place is moving north at about 7cm/year. The GPS system was never designed for countries that move about.  3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

They are changing their national latitude/longitude due to tectonic plate shifts and as self drive cars work from these lat/long and GPS they keep getting confused.

Global lat/long remains the same no matter what so a global GPS will place a position in Oz several meters from where the local GPS places it and autonomous devices cant cope.

1.5 metres in 20 years is nothing.
