No Martyn, MY13 models with halogens, only have one bulb each side with shutters to control the dip/full beam. |

No, its a single HB4 halogen bulb, this unit: http://www.hids4u.co.uk/hb4-osram-night-br...r-new.html HIDs would be my next step as soon as I have the funds |

It's not cost cutting but rather a different technology. The theory behind reflector and projector style headlamps calls for different style of hardware on a dip beam to ensure oncoming traffic are not blinded, hence the flap.
