Excesive Wind Noise

Driving at speeds over 20mph give rise to wind noise seemingly to come from the front vents or screen area.
At 30 mph and above it sounds like a force 10 gale. At 60 mph I am sure I get a severe weather forecast about to come on the radio.
At first I thought that the sun Roof had not closed properly but that was fine.
The noise is there all the time even with the Fan turned off. It's as though the Ventilation tubes are open to the elements as the faster I go the louder the Air volume noise becomes.
Anyone got any ideas what it could be. Offset your Carbon emissions by boycotting Baked Beans and all Green Vegitables.

My 14MY Freelander also makes a wind noise that is related to the interior fan. The fan will run happily and only make normal fan and air type noises. When I reach just over 60 mph it starts squeeaking and whistling. If I turn the fan off the noise stops.

Sorry to jump on your thread but I was thinking that I may be getting air forced to the fan as well. You just got a post in on the subject before me.

Gav.

my 09 plate started to do this about 50 mph and above, and that was after 5 years of ownership.

for the life of me I couldn't find what was causing it.

between this noise and other general rumbling, it made a journey not very pleasant or relaxing.

I recall it did seem to be related in some way to the fan, but how I don't know.

Iain
